James T. Rodier


James T. Rodier was the founder of Freedom Energy, a pioneering electricity marketer based in New England, in 1997.  Mr. Rodier is currently serving as General Counsel for Freedom Energy. He is a nationally recognized speaker on energy deregulation, having made presentations to the management of three of the five largest electric utilities in the country, as well as at numerous national conferences and seminars.

Attorney Rodier is an acknowledged leader in the movement toward retail competition and deregulation of the electric utility industry.  He has been referred to by Energy Buyer's Guide as the "champion of New Hampshire deregulation" for his leadership role in restructuring the utility industry.  In fact, Attorney Rodier was a key figure in the development and implementation of the first in the nation, New Hampshire electric deregulation pilot program in 1996.

Attorney Rodier brings a wealth state and federal regulatory experience, as well as an in depth knowledge of the inner workings of ISO New England and the energy market in general, to Freedom Energy.  In his role as General Counsel, Attorney Rodier not only represents the legal interests of the company, but he also capitalizes his vast network of industry professionals to  promote the Freedom Energy brand, as well as contributing on the operations side of the business.

Attorney Rodier is a resident of Portsmouth, NH and manages Freedom’s New Hampshire office. Attorney Rodier received his law degree (J.D.) from Suffolk University Law School, as well as a B.S.E.E. from Worcester Polytechnic Institute. He is admitted to both the Massachusetts Bar and the New Hampshire Bar.
